The combination of long-range and close-quarters mechs in addition to their standard infantry make them a relatively well-balanced faction. With mechs easily obtainable quite early on, the Polania Republic can push ahead with a large swarm of units without breaking a sweat.

While the majority of their units tend to be quite weak, they're cheap and quite fast making them perfect for advancing quickly against your opponent.

The Polania Republic is by far the most beginner-friendly faction and a great starting place for those trying out Iron Harvest for the first time. Nevertheless, the combination of visually stunning mechs and impressive firepower makes the Saxony Empire one of the most enjoyable factions to control. As a result, while certainly more balanced than other factions in Iron Harvest, the Saxony Empire still requires a lot of skillful plays. And while the Saxony Empire is well equipped with impressive firepower, if overwhelmed they'll quickly be destroyed. The longer you wait to capture resource points, the larger the enemy army will become. While playing defensively is certainly important, if you play as this faction you'll have to strike a fine balance between stoic defenses and slow, but powerful pushes. Especially in the early game, pushing forward can be quite difficult. However, this is much easier said than done. Relying on combined arms between infantry, mechs, and artillery will ensure that you'll win any match. Sending in a lone mech or two will see them become quickly flanked and destroyed. With a number of its mechs being ostensibly cannons on legs, the Saxony Empire is reliant on combining all of its unit types to push forward. The Saxony Empire is a faction centered around slow-moving mechs and powerful defensive plays. While the story associated with them is rather excellent and their unit variety and type are great, they don't make for a great faction, especially for newcomers.

Additionally, their lack of heavily armored units means that they can be defeated quickly if not utilized correctly. The fact that they're locked behind paid-DLC means that not a lot of players will be able to access them from the outset. Unfortunately, while still an incredible faction, they're not the best.

A lot of their units are fast-moving and perfect for taking out small groups of infantry units. This is a fantastic faction for fast plays, especially during the early game. It is based on the United States during the 1920s, much like the other factions are based on European countries during that time.
